In the 1990’s after being misdiagnosed on two separate accounts, Sherry embarked on her own healing journey by exploring the curative powers of herbalism and botanical medicines. This quest led her to study with a Shaman in Costa Rica, where she resided for three years. The profound experience of nature changed the course of Sherry's life by first and foremost allowing her to understand three things: intuition, humility and listening skills.
In the mid 1990's Sherry built on these skills by completing Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training, coupled with certificates in the field of mental health therapy. She spent the next 18 years working as a mental health professional, while sharing her knowledge about alternative therapies and medicines in various speaking engagements, and with her clients.
Almost twenty years later, these skills have become part of Sherry's every day tools, which she uses to help others.
Sherry's education includes a Bachelor’s Degree from Carleton university in Political Science, along with three years in Public Policy and Business Administration from York University. After completing her diploma in Homeopathic Medicine in 2007, she pursued further training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapies from Adler Institute, followed by a diploma in reflexology, as well as a license in manual osteopathy. She currently uses all her skills to operate a thriving practice, while providing wellness consulting to corporations and operating holistic retreats for targeted populations.
An approachable and compassionate professional, Sherry brings an abundance of energy, and enthusiasm in all her interactions. She continuously strives for higher learning, so as to remain current and to provide the most effective, individualized and holistic treatment plans.
Kerri works alongside Dr. Kellerstein in the CCHM Teaching Clinic. She also sees patients at her own clinic in Toronto (390 Dupont St.), and offers a house call service too. Kerri comes from a long line of women who have known how to work with nature and the body’s own strengths to preserve health and treat illness. After graduating from the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine and starting a practice, she discovered that many patients could benefit from additional support, so she completed my Holistic Nutrition diploma with the Edison Institute of Nutrition. Considering her love of food and the pleasure eating brings, she has really enjoyed expanding this aspect of her practice, and she now weaves nutritional healing and support into her practice with great success.
Kerri loves practicing holistic medicine; it gives her the chance to combine the knowledge and wisdom that has been passed on to her, with her education and passion for helping people. She feels profoundly privileged every time a patient places their trust in her and lets her help them find their path to health. It is a privilege that she takes very seriously. Sarah started her health career as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, graduating from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2000. Energy in all its forms creates our world, influences our interactions and informs our experiences. One of the greatest gifts Kanan has received has been to explore the above statement from many varied perspectives, utilize the learnings and sharing the insights gained with others. Her rigorous training in physics and mathematics (BSc Physics, University of Windsor, 1885; MSc Astrophysics, Queens University, 1987; PhD Astronomy and Astrophysics, McMaster University, 1995) allowed her an understanding of energy as a physical phenomenon expressed in the language of mathematics. Later shifting focus and scale going from the galactic and super massive to the smallest and subtlest she had the privilege of studying energy as medicine thanks to her comprehensive education in classical homeopathy at the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine (DCHM, 2012). This combined with her connection to traditional medicines, Eastern philosophy and healing arts has built a solid foundation from which to explore and experience the role of energy in being, health and healing. “I could not have planned this if I had tried” is how she feels about this journey. Kanan has been a clinical supervisor for students at CCHM since 2015 and is very happy to join the esteemed faculty this year. She has been practicing classical Homeopathy privately since 2012 (Vital Life Homeopathy) and since 2015, working in a dynamic health care clinic, Kingsway Chiropractic in Toronto. To learn more about Kanan and her practice, please visit VitalLifeHomeopathy.com
